Alec Baldwin has opened up about his marriage in a new TV series
Alec Baldwin and his wife recently shared details about the prenup she signed before their marriage in an episode of their new reality series.
For years, Alec Baldwin's life has been a topic of public discussion. Now, the actor has taken that openness a step further with a reality TV show that gives viewers an inside look at his family life.
In the latest episode of their TLC series, The Baldwins, Alec and his wife, Hilaria, revisited the early days of their relationship. One of the key moments they reflected on was the decision to sign a prenup before tying the knot.
If you’re unfamiliar, a prenup—short for prenuptial agreement—is a legal document signed by both partners before marriage. It outlines how assets and finances would be divided in the event of a divorce.
During the February 23 episode, Baldwin spoke about his past marriage to Kim Basinger, which lasted from 1993 to 2002. He also reflected on why having a prenup was important to him.
He said: "After my first marriage I said, 'Let's have a prenup.'"

Hilaria admitted that when she was preparing to marry Baldwin in June 2012, she didn’t fully take the time to understand what a prenup actually was.
She also acknowledged that she didn’t grasp the importance of what she was signing at the time.
She said: "I just don't understand quite what a prenup is. Because you are like, 'After a certain number of kids it is this.' And I was like, 'You know what? I will just sign it.'"
"Which was probably very stupid of me back then."
"Now, I would read it again. I just said, 'I won't sign it. I don't really want to think about the end by the beginning.' And then you were like, 'I don't want to do it either.'"
The couple’s reality show also touches on the tragic Rust film set shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The incident occurred in 2021, and Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter because he was holding the gun at the time. However, he has consistently maintained that he did not pull the trigger and was unaware that the firearm contained live ammunition instead of dummy rounds.

In July of last year, a judge officially dismissed the charges against him.
Throughout the ordeal, the couple emphasized that their strong family bond was what helped them navigate the situation. Baldwin also reflected on how deeply the entire experience affected his wife.
Speaking directly to her, he said: "This has been just surreal. I mean, I can't even believe that we're going through this, and I always feel more in pain about you than me, because I think to myself, well, you know, 'I'm going to try to my best to just get through it', and I think what it's done to you and how much it's hurt you and everything."
