A woman who describes herself as 'stuck in the body of an eight-year-old' has finally shared why she keeps her boyfriend’s identity private.
Shauna Rae Lesick may have the appearance of a young child, but in reality, she’s 26 years old.
She rose to fame after starring in her own TLC reality series, I Am Shauna Rae, which gave audiences an inside look at her unique life and the challenges she faces.
The show, which premiered in 2022, featured a trailer where she stated: "I am a 22-year-old woman stuck in the body of an 8-year-old."
At the age of 16, Shauna Rae received life-changing news - she had completely stopped growing. She described this as an incredibly difficult moment in her life.
Reflecting on that period, she told PEOPLE: "It probably was the lowest time of my life, because I always imagined that I would be tall. And getting that news, it just kind of was like a hammer crashing into glass."

She continued to share more about that phase of her life: "I kind of isolated myself in a way so I could find myself and be happy with who I am, because at the time I wasn't happy with who I was."
"I started doing online school, and I just really focused on me and what I wanted to do, and who I was as a person, and bettering myself."
The reason behind her stunted growth is linked to a major health battle from her childhood, Shauna Rae was diagnosed with brain cancer as a young child.

Although she survived the disease, the treatment affected her pituitary gland, which is responsible for regulating growth.
The official diagnosis for her condition is pituitary dwarfism, which explains why her physical appearance has remained the same for so many years.
Since the debut of her show, Shauna Rae has continued to stay in the public eye. She recently made an appearance on The Unplanned Podcast, hosted by Abby and Matt Howard, where she opened up about her relationship.
During the conversation, Shauna Rae was asked about her current boyfriend and why she has chosen not to reveal his face publicly.
She confidently responded: "Neither one of us care if his face is out there,"
She elaborated on her concerns, adding: "I more worry because he has a nice job. I don't want anything bad going to the job. The job knows who I am, they know what I do for my living, they love me."
She further explained her decision: "But with everything that social media is and everything I know my boyfriend isn't, I just don't want him to be labelled something and him not be my partner forever."
"At this point, unless I'm marrying him, or spending my rest of my life with him, his face isn't going to be shown."
