Further details emerged from ETonline.com, revealing that the man, Vietnam veteran Charles “Bud” Phillips, was the recipient of Cena’s generosity. Cena noticed Phillips’ hat, thanked him for his service, and covertly covered the cost of his groceries.
Phillips’ daughter shаrеd, “John secretly paid for all of his groceries. My dad didn’t even know until he was being checked out and the cashier said, ‘John paid for your groceries.’”
